Travel Notes: Taichung Qizhi, Fucaixuan Private Cantonese Cuisine, Liyun Sake Specialty Store (4th visit). At noon, Sam and Olen came down from Taipei. Sam arranged a gathering with Caroline, an investor from the UK from their KulaDAO, to chat and catch up, and invited me to join. Fucaixuan is a Michelin Plate restaurant, and the food was not bad~ Thanks to Sam for lunch. Afterward, we went next door to Liyun for a second round of daiginjo. The second bottle we opened today was a rare natural sake (made with organic rice), with a complex and diverse flavor profile. Thanks to the owner of Liyun, Xuan Yi, who is also my classmate from Weidao High School, for having the staff treat us to a rare Japanese shochu with a cilantro flavor. I also spontaneously invited Jie Zhi, another Weidao classmate who lives nearby, to join. The world is small—Caroline also owns property here in Qizhi, and it turns out she lives right next door to Jie Zhi in the adjacent building.
