Location: Taichung Zhongxing Street Hero Ramen
Travel note: With nothing much to do in the evening, I made a rainy appointment to have some red wine with my lawyer senior from Taichung First Senior High School - Dade, and an alumnus from Weidao - Qibin. First, we ate delicious ramen next door as a simple dinner, then walked to the currently trial-operating Yi Xiao Kou Wine Cellar, a shop mainly offering various wines. The senior also knows the owner, Xiao Guo, so we were treated to many hams and cheeses, plus additionally ordered Dutch truffle cheese, Italy Parmigiano-Reggiano... paired with red wine from Clarendon Hills, one of Australia's top three wineries, a 2012 Syrah, and a 2010 red wine from France's Burgundy region, a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir. While tasting the wine, we listened to the senior and Qibin chat about their professional insights in legal practice and convertible bond investment, having a cross-disciplinary discussion.
