Travel note summary: My elementary school classmate Wenzheng has been back working in Taichung for half a year after transferring from Taipei. We met for lunch today—the last time we saw each other was six years ago at his wedding. Now Wenzheng is a father of two, commuting daily from Fengyuan to Taichung for work. He still works at a company that makes industrial connectors, with the Taichung branch near the art museum, so we decided to meet around this area for a meal. Surprisingly, this Japanese restaurant tucked away in an alley was bustling at noon, completely full by 11:30 AM, and we almost didn't get a seat. We ordered a table full of dishes: nigiri sushi, grilled squid, fried oysters, onion salad, chawanmushi... It was a long-awaited reunion, and it felt special to catch up in Taichung again.
