Travel note summary: I got a call from my good friend John from our national defense service days this morning. He came back to Taichung from Hsinchu this weekend. Originally, he wanted to introduce me to a senior from Weidao who works at a hedge fund in the US, but in the end, the senior's schedule was too busy and couldn't be arranged, so we'll try another time. But since I hadn't seen John in months, I still went to his house in the West District to hang out, chatting over coffee he brewed. After that, I was supposed to meet Alex for dinner at E Fang Gong (Goose House), at their newer flagship store on Gongyi Road, but when we went spontaneously, it was packed—no seats at all. So we had to change plans and casually ate at a chain Italian restaurant next door that has branches all over Taiwan.
