Travel Notes Summary: Hyatt Yes KTV on Taiwan Boulevard, Taichung; Nashou Chuan Izakaya on Zhongqing Road. Today was quite an interesting day too—I blended in with a group of seniors for hiking in the morning, then blended in with a group of young people for singing at night. Speaking of which, Alex came down from Taipei to see me again on short notice. This time we tried something new: we found a singing gathering on Eatgether, hosted by a hostess in her twenties. Nine people showed up; the other seven were strangers to us. Many were young people in their twenties or thirties. I also learned some new songs. After leaving, the two of us went to a nearby izakaya and opened one of the five bottles of wine Alex specially brought from Taipei—a Cabernet Sauvignon from a small American winery. It had rich layers and was indeed a pretty good wine. Chatting about red wine, life, eating oysters, pairing with skewers—another fulfilling Saturday, I guess. Cheers! By Morgan @2020.9.27
