Travel notes summary: In Taichung, at Dadun 12th Street's Pule Wine Cellar. First, had lunch with Brother Gong at the newly opened Starbucks in Fengyuan. In the afternoon, returned to downtown Taichung and came to Pule Wine Cellar in Nantun. Started with a 2010 red wine from Spain's famous Rioja region. In the evening, Senior Dade joined us. He really knows the owners of every shop in Taichung—from yesterday's Ran Ran Tea House and Thirsty Scholar to today's owner Xiao Liao at Pule. As soon as Xiao Liao heard Senior Dade was coming, he warmly treated us to a Spanish brandy and later a post-meal Grappa (42% ABV). After Senior Dade arrived, he first selected a 2015 Bordeaux Left Bank wine, and then I added another Spanish Giro origin wine. Paired with many dishes from their private kitchen (dinner set $1,500 or $1,800+10%, or à la carte). Three people, three red wines, had a great time. Through wine tasting, Senior Dade also knows many second-generation developers, and coincidentally, he and Brother Gong share many mutual friends.
