Travel Notes: Lunch with a department senior at a Bib Gourmand spot, dinner with a department junior at a Bib Gourmand spot. (A bit of a tongue twister.) This Indian restaurant also just made it onto Taichung's Michelin Bib Gourmand list. I hadn't seen my junior Huiyun since university graduation—eighteen years. (Literally 18 years, not an exaggeration.) She's been coming to Taichung from Hsinchu every Friday recently to take Italian classes, so we arranged to meet for dinner in Taichung tonight. Her life journey is interesting too: after ten years in the tech industry, she finally left a major IC design company to pursue her own path. She first went to a B&B in Taitung for a working holiday, making pottery and pizza, then studied at language schools in multiple places in the US, and traveled to many countries around the world. After returning to Taiwan, she got a food service license, worked and learned in many restaurants, and then opened her own hot pot restaurant in Zhubei: Yixin Hot Pot.
