Travel note summary: On the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, I got a call from senior Zhihao inviting me to dinner. That evening, I headed to Anhe Road, not far from Central Taiwan Science Park. We ate at a place called Ririfa Mutton Hot Pot. Our university friend group has stayed in touch even after graduation—I think we're a model example. I'm from the class of '02, but we keep in touch with seniors from as early as '91 and freshmen from '12, spanning 22 years. It's hard to meet up since everyone's scattered. That night, it was just three of us: Zhihao ('00), Xianlong ('01), and me ('02). Senior ATTILA still works at AUO in the science park and is studying for an EMBA at Tunghai University, while Alan is at ASUS (now Pegatron) but mostly stationed in Shanghai, so we rarely see him. Ririfa's mutton hot pot is similar to the style in Xihu, Changhua—not with skin or bones, and less heavy on the wine flavor. The three of us spent just over a thousand NTD, which is quite affordable.
