Many people might think Morgan is from Taichung City, but in fact, I moved to Fengyuan when I was very young and only moved back to Taichung City during my sophomore year of college. So, I lived in Fengyuan for about 15 years, and Fengyuan City is the place I'm truly most familiar with :P
Below, I'll write about some of my food experiences in Fengyuan, as this place accompanied most of my childhood.
First, when you come to Fengyuan, the first place you must eat is Miaodong. What is Miaodong? It's a small alley next to the Mazu Temple on Zhongzheng Road. There are many great shops in this area.
First is Fengyuan Meatball. Its meatballs are just as good as other famous ones from around Taiwan—the skin is chewy, and the meat texture is top-notch, paired with the sauce (spicy or non-spicy)—it's a truly nostalgic flavor~
Of course, just eating a meatball won't fill you up. As you walk further down, you'll see a shop selling rice dumplings and wontons (Yongfangting). Their rice dumplings are already quite good, but the wonton soup—I have to say it's…
