Travel note: Today, I visited my grandma's place in Wuqi and spent a lively day with several uncles, aunts, and cousins I hadn't seen in a long time, plus a bunch of kids. In the evening, back in Taichung, Pat arranged a gathering with IP and me. IP, who handles investment projects at Song Xueren's office, lives really close to my place in Taichung—quite a coincidence. The three of us exchanged updates and resources on recent projects, including a company in AI + surveillance that recently approached IP's team for PIPE investment. Also, Singapore-based broker Long Bridge wants to enter the Taiwan market, and Pat has been helping them arrange talks with brokers like Cathay and Fubon before the New Year. Or, Japanese game company KOEI, famous for Romance of the Three Kingdoms, is currently looking for channels and resources to issue NFTs... We usually meet in Taipei, so gathering in Taichung today was a nice change and a different memory. Also tried mulled wine for the first time—the spiced flavor was quite unique.
