Location: Visiting Senior Don's Home in Taichung
Travel notes: On the fourth day of Lunar New Year, I visited the home of Senior Don from Weidao + Taichung First Senior High School. Senior Don manages over six hedge and pension funds in the US and invests in various companies worldwide. Since we rarely get to meet in Taichung during the New Year, I stayed from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM—a full eight hours. Several retired seniors and their wives from Taichung First Senior High School also gathered at Don's home. The seniors came from all walks of life—AT&T, bank presidents, factory managers overseeing 100,000 employees... At my age in the 40s, I became the 'young fresh meat' at the table today. XD I tried to explain blockchain, decentralized finance, Ethereum POS, and various concepts in simple terms to the table of seniors around 70 years old. I also sought advice and perspectives from Senior Don, who has incredibly rich life experience—from Bell Labs to finance. While enjoying the sorghum wine sesame oil chicken and various dishes prepared by the senior, we drank coffee + Italian hazelnut liqueur, Spanish red wine, whisky...
