Travel Notes Summary: Taichung City/County – Wuqi Seafood Restaurant (New Tien Di Restaurant). This is a quite famous restaurant in Taichung, and also a very business-savvy company. I’m a bit forgetful if it was the first restaurant in Taiwan to be listed on the stock exchange, but in recent years it has maintained an EPS over 2. Its stock price in the over-the-counter market is still over twenty-something dollars, more profitable than many high-tech companies :P. The original store is in Wuqi, a small town near Taichung Port. Maybe many people not from Taichung haven’t heard of this place name, but since my maternal grandmother’s home is in Wuqi, our family goes back there every Chinese New Year. Plus, sometimes I practice driving to take my mom back to see my grandparents, so I go to Wuqi quite often. This New Tien Di also has two branches in Taichung, one in the East District and one in the North District. Since my paternal grandparents also like eating at New Tien Di, I’ve eaten at both sides (Taichung: paternal grandparents; Wuqi: maternal grandparents).
