Location: Sanniu Japanese Cuisine, Taipei
Travel note: Considered one of Taipei's top 10 high-end Japanese restaurants, this decades-old spot. Haven't been here in years, but Chef Wenzheng is as impressive as ever. Sat at the counter again with a budget of two to three thousand for omakase, plus two bottles of Argentine red. They just got a large wild red snapper today—red snapper, toro, scallops, mullet roe, grilled collar... all ingredients were super fresh. Ended with a nourishing soup. An elderly couple in their eighties comes every night, and I saw them again today. Time really flies, recalling bits from 2013 and 2014—life is always unpredictable. — Morgan, evening of May 13, 2018
