Location: San Hua, High-End Japanese Cuisine, Taipei
Travel Notes: This is a restaurant located on Jianguo North Road, Section 2. The previous tenant was an Italian restaurant, but after the owner of San Hua Textile took over, it was converted into a Japanese restaurant. It hasn't been open long, only about eight months. The head chef is Chef Shi, who was poached from Shin Tokyo. He's a bit shy but quite friendly. Dinner Omakase starts at 2500 TWD (600 RMB). Tonight, we also ordered a bottle of Australian red wine. The decor shows the owner's attention to detail: besides chairs made from cow neck leather (each costing 80,000 TWD), the counter is built from a single piece of wood. Combined with Guanyin Mountain stones and North Coast rock salt, it creates a simple yet quality dining atmosphere. Although many ingredients aren't imported, the locally sourced Taiwanese ones offer good quality and value for money. Paired with excellent service, it's a Japanese restaurant that leaves a positive impression. :)
