Travel note summary: After lunch at amba Taipei Songshan, I took Alvin to visit the nearby Taipei Ark. In the evening, Taka, the founder of Ark, happened to come in, and he introduced us to Feifei, co-founder of NFT Board, one of the companies based there. Later that night, I went to an izakaya in a lane off Zhongshan N. Rd. My friend Andy, whom I met in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, introduced his friend Josh, who then introduced his partner Jim. I also invited Senior Lman to join. When I first met Andy in 2016, he had just left a Hong Kong investment bank to join Tencent, later representing them in acquiring game companies worldwide. He recently decided to join a blockchain gaming company as a Co-founder. He called me from Hong Kong last week for a chat and then introduced Josh, whom he knew from the B2C lending platform Cashalo. Josh now works at an alternative investment firm that secures private placements like SpaceX from VCs and resells them; Headline also collaborates with them.
