Location: Taipei, Lane off Ren'ai Road, Rakuken Wagyu
Travel note: A top-tier wagyu restaurant that used to be only in Taichung, now also in Taipei. Tonight, I had the most expensive set menu (NT$4,400+10% per person) plus two bottles of Italian and French red wine. From Australian 9+ wagyu to Japanese A5 wagyu and Matsusaka A5 beef—every dish was packed with wagyu flavor. For example, a hand roll with raw wagyu and premium red sea urchin that melts in your mouth, or Inaniwa udon (one of Japan's top three udon) with beef shank, and wagyu with freshly grated truffle melting into egg yolk. They also gave me a wagyu gua bao for my birthday. All wagyu was grilled tableside by dedicated staff. Each dish was satisfying and memorable—the crispiness of Australian wagyu, the tenderness of Japanese wagyu, the aroma of Matsusaka beef—making my 41st birthday perfect. Grateful to have so many good friends in this life! Cheers! By Morgan @2021.3.21 evening
