Location: Taipei, Lane 27, Ren'ai Road, Da'an No. 9 Hot Pot & Japanese Cuisine. This place targets competitors like the high-end shabu-shabu restaurant 'Orange' next door. It's indeed not cheap—after opening three bottles of French red wine, the bill for three people came to 18,000 TWD, 6,000 each. But some ingredients or cooking methods are quite unique: Hokkaido-sourced decade-old conch (4,380 TWD), deep-fried sea urchin wrapped in seaweed, lucky gold leaf sushi, U.S. Prime black beef, ice cream topped with sautéed sea urchin salt... Manager Liang, true to form, was humorous and charming, eventually attracting the owner Lisa and her sister Stella to join us in the private room. They chatted with us until closing and treated us to a bunch of dishes, including giant grouper, Penghu squid, and abalone. It was an incredibly fun night—Cheers!!!
