Travel Notes: J.W. Teres is the name of the first Bulgarian king fascinated by wine, so Krastyu, the Bulgarian owner who loves wine, named this restaurant 'King.' It's located in an alley on Siwei Road, surrounded by many high-end restaurants. This is a no-menu restaurant; you order based on the server's verbal description of today's dishes. Tonight, we ordered yogurt zucchini, vegetable platter, swordfish belly, New York strip steak, and more. This is also the only restaurant in Taiwan that imports Bulgarian wine, so out of the total bill of over 15,000 TWD (3,500 RMB), more than 12,000 was for wine. We ended up trying three bottles of Bulgarian red wine. Actually, Bulgaria has a winemaking history of thousands of years, making it an ancient wine-producing country. Although its latitude is similar to Bordeaux, its continental climate is warmer, creating different terroir conditions.
