Travel note summary: Got an urgent call from Cindy in the afternoon. She said she had a last-minute meeting with the chairman of Hong Yuan Investment Advisory and rushed out from Taoyuan, forgetting her wallet. Now she was in a taxi with no money to pay the fare. So I headed to Hong Yuan's headquarters, paid the NT$200 fare to the chairman who had helped her out, and sat down for a chat with Chairman Chen Hongda. Chairman Chen was recently elected as one of the 23 directors of the Investment Trust and Investment Advisory Association. He shared some insights about their overseas fund agency business and their upcoming PE Fund, which will incorporate a senior-subordinated structure linked to a gold arbitrage fund. Chairman Chen was warm and interesting—a delightful afternoon exchange. On the way back, I picked up some grilled oysters at Raohe Street Night Market.
