After moving to Taipei, I sometimes go out to eat with my roommate Steven, occasionally chatting about recent trades and exchanging ideas on trading. One night, we went to a newly opened restaurant near our place called Sen Ga Ya. They offer quite a variety of food—clay pot dishes, rice bowls, fried items, gratin, soba noodles, even steak meals. The prices are very reasonable, averaging around a hundred-something NT dollars per meal. It's a good choice when you don't want to eat too fancy or too poorly. Although it's a chain, it seems only the Neihu branch exists for now. In contrast, another place I tried called Gosen Den, a Japanese tonkatsu restaurant, is much more famous. I ordered the pork loin tonkatsu set meal (NT$160), and Steven had the hamburger steak set (NT$170). A 10% service charge is added. Cabbage salad is unlimited, like many similar restaurants. The whole set wasn't bad, but having just tried the famous Anzu the night before, the comparison made the differences quite obvious (though Anzu is much pricier). So, my impression of Gosen Den wasn't particularly memorable. Just for reference.
