Travel note: In the morning, my good friend Yujia came up specially from Hsinchu and arranged for me to meet his junior from his US study days, William. Pat, who also studied in the US, joined as well, so the four of us chatted casually. William previously worked at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong and Singapore, managing funds for high-net-worth clients (minimum investment $25 million). Recently, he joined Matrixport, a centralized cryptocurrency exchange founded by Wu Jihan, former co-founder of Bitmain. Matrixport's valuation in its latest funding round has also reached unicorn status ($1 billion). William will later be responsible for business development in Taiwan. We casually exchanged some information and contact details. The other two had meetings to attend and left first, while Yujia and I continued to a nearby place for some simple meatball soup.
