Location: Taipei, Grand Hyatt Taipei 1F Cheers Lounge. Yesterday, through Jojo, I met senior Fuxin from the NCKU class of '90. He invests in biotech, supply chain finance, and other industries. On New Year's Day afternoon, I went to Jeff's place near Dongmen Station and spent time with Leon & Jennie, Leon's friend of over 30 years, Lai, and Roy's whole family. Taiwan is a small place—Roy is my senior from Weidao High School, twenty years my senior. They manufacture motors for power steering systems, currently among the top three globally and also part of Tesla's supply chain. Then in the evening, came to the Grand Hyatt to catch up with William, whom I hadn't seen in a while. Also met his friend Steven, who just arrived from the US. Discussed Steven's exchange's idea of looking for a base in Taiwan to set up a VC and invest in projects. Suggested they visit Taipei Ark and Tempo House tomorrow. Thanks to William for the treat.
