Taipei, Watami Izakaya: One noon, I had lunch with Haoting and Xinyi in the Xinyi shopping district. There's a Watami branch on the upper floor of Neo19, so I suggested trying it. Actually, it's because Chef senior mentioned that Watami's dining system also uses the touch-screen POS system I previously helped him develop. But later I found out this Xinyi branch doesn't use that system. When I asked the senior, he said not all Watami stores have adopted it. Anyway, no big deal—I've long heard of Watami, so this was a chance to try it. The three of us ordered grilled salmon belly sushi, soy sauce grilled squid, fried chicken cartilage, and seafood scallop fried rice—we were relatively modest, so it came to just over NT$700. For Japanese cuisine, the taste was decent but not top-tier. However, the overall decor and atmosphere were quite nice; it must feel even better at night. Anyway, overall, it's a place worth trying. Thanks again to Haoting for treating us—good deeds bring good rewards, congrats on your recent promotion and raise! Watami Izakaya (Xinyi Store) Address: 2F, No. 22, Songshou Road, Neo19, Taipei.
