Travel note: After a meeting in the afternoon, went to find a place for wine in the alley behind the company in the evening. Though hidden in an alley, Vin Jolie offers a wide variety of wines by the glass. Today, I had 6 glasses: a mineral white from Burgundy, France; a slightly sweet late-harvest German Riesling; a Gewürztraminer white with lychee notes; last year's Beaujolais Nouveau from France; a red blend from Southern Rhône, France; and finished with a full-bodied Australian Cabernet-Shiraz. Drinking and making friends, I chatted with another customer, Yunzhu, who works at III, and he brought cheese to share with the wine. Just as we were finishing, Nancy coincidentally messaged to meet up, so we moved to the long-unvisited Wine Cellar Zi. Tonight, we drank Napa American red wine. Thanks for the treat!
