Location: Taipei, Da'an District, She'll Oyster bar, HIKOUSHI Whisky Cigars
Travel Notes: After resting well over the weekend, went out tonight. First, had oysters + white wine and an extravagant oyster-scallop-clam chicken broth ramen at She'll. Then randomly walked into a nearby Japanese whisky bar, which turned out to be cigar-focused. Asked the owner Alvin (A-Mao) to recommend a Cuban Montecristo with chocolate notes, smoked while drinking whisky. I ordered Nikka's Yoichi, Coffey Malt, and Taketsuru. The owner treated me to Hibiki (airport limited), Yamazaki, and Chichibu MWR Gold Leaf Ichiro's Malt. Met new friends: David, who used to do business in Beijing and wears an LV cap; Abe, a freelancer who worked in the US and London; Steven, a neurosurgeon; and Charmaine, studying tech law at NCTU. David is a regular, coming almost every day of the month. A unique spot—Japanese whisky + cigars is indeed rare in Taiwan. They seriously age cigars in cedar boxes and wine cellar conditions. Life goes with the flow, Sunday night with cigars + whisky, Cheers! By Morgan @2025.6.15 evening
