Travel note: Samuel invited me to dinner, so I started another gathering tonight. I invited Fisher, a Cheng Kung University junior who works at Palm Drive Capital (a global VC fund based in New York), and my good friend Pat from a foreign investment bank. Along with Samuel & Pat's Cornell University junior, also Co-Founder of DeFITs, Olen, the five of us got together to meet. Fisher also studied abroad and graduated from NYU, and Olen is now involved in VC investments with the Avalanche (AVAX) Foundation. So tonight's conversation took a more global perspective, discussing current VC views on various projects. Samuel and his friends also have a plan underway to turn a South African gold mine into a DAO. Taiwan is small—turns out Fisher is also very familiar with Cheng-Wei from He Ding Venture Capital. Enjoying delicious teppanyaki dishes paired with two bottles of Portuguese and American red wine, glasses clinking, everyone enthusiastically exchanged ideas.
