Travel Notes: In the evening, senior Lman introduced me to a Hong Kong friend, Ferd. Fred is quite a character—a British Hong Konger who loves Taiwan so much that he not only obtained a rare Taiwan Employment Gold Card for foreigners but also invests in various companies in software, building materials, water purification, etc., here. He's also a member of the Ketagalan School, where his classmates include next-term presidential candidates for Taiwan. Fred shared many insider stories about Hong Kong's major families, and we had a great chat. Since I just returned from Vietnam and Fred also has a branch there, we exchanged some observations.
