Location: Taipei, Wenchang Street, Luana Wine Cafe
Travel notes: After a sweat session, I needed to recharge. Luana Wine Cafe is run by a Japanese owner who's been in Taiwan for six years—he wanted to learn Chinese and loves Taiwan, so he opened this cozy wine bar in Xinyi. We chatted about cultural differences and wine, and I had a white from Southern France and two Napa reds. Later, I met up with my university club junior, Jinting (ct). We hadn't seen each other in 13 years—time flies! She's now an EVA Air pilot, just back from Alaska. She's crossed fields like architecture, CS, and management—a real genius! For the second stop, we had whisky cocktails at Xiao Hou Yuan near her place. The final stop was a small bar opened by her friend, Brother Fa, in Dazhi. Thanks for the treat, junior—we talked till dawn! Cheers! :) — Morgan, evening of April 16, 2024
