Location: Taipei, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 6F Bencotto Italian Restaurant
Travel note: I still remember when this place first opened a few years ago; I couldn't get a reservation back then. Today, I made a last-minute booking and managed to snag one of the last few tables. The four-course dinner set was over two thousand dollars, offering decent value for money with dishes like beef tartare, pappardelle, and wagyu. The overall ambiance and service were also good. The only slight disappointment was the 2016 Italian red wine we opened tonight, priced over four thousand dollars—it didn't feel quite worth the price. I checked it on Vivino, and it only had a 4.0/5 rating. A bit of a pity, I guess. @@ By Morgan @2021.4.14 evening
