Location: Taipei, Mandarin Oriental Hotel 3F - Ya Ge Cantonese Cuisine (Michelin One Star). A person's life is connected by countless threads of fate. Every memory is also born from such connections. Tonight's dinner with four friends originated because Andy previously introduced his CMU classmate Jeffery to me, and I then introduced Jeffery to Senior Lman. Pat introduced his Cornell classmate Samuel to me, and I also introduced Samuel to Senior Lman. Unexpectedly, Jeffery and Senior Lman later became business partners, and Samuel became one of their investors. Today, Jeffery and Samuel, who are mostly based in the US, happened to be in Taiwan, hence the chance for the four of us—Jeffery, Samuel, Senior Lman, and me—to dine together. Thinking they're usually in Western countries flying around, I chose Ya Ge Chinese restaurant for tonight's gathering. With Cantonese cuisine, we tried pairing it with an Argentine Malbec red wine—medium to full body, enhancing the flavors of different meats.
