Location: Taipei, Songshan District, L'Etoile Vin Wine Shop
Travel Note Summary: This morning, I first went to Ding's home to pay my respects and offer incense for Brother Jiaming's final journey. Life is all about connections; it's enough that we had the chance to meet and chat. At noon, I had lunch with Pat, Elton, and Kyle at Nong Lai nearby. Lately, my reflections on life have deepened—when there's a chance and time to gather, let's gather as much as possible. Thanks to my brother for picking up the tab. After the meal, Pat went back to the office for a meeting, while I found a very quiet little shop in the afternoon. I sat down alone and ordered a glass of red wine from Argentina, a Malbec, to relax and contemplate in the tranquility. Sipping away, I naturally moved on to a second glass, a Greek red wine not commonly found in Taiwan, a 2016 Xinomavro. Then came a Hungarian white wine, a dry (not sweet) Tokaji, but with quite a pronounced aroma. All three glasses were interesting wines, shifting my mood from contemplation to immersion. @@ By Morgan @2026.3.30 afternoon
