Travel note summary: After a morning DEFI meeting at Joyso, Pat had lunch with Steven (He Yingqi), founder of 91 APP—a company that went public in Taiwan last year with a market cap of around 20+ billion NTD—and invited Alvin and me to join. Steven first gave us a personal tour of the entire 91 APP company, which has about 500 employees. He introduced their current products and services, focusing on OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) development. Then he treated us to a meal at QUE restaurant upstairs in the adjacent amba Taipei Songshan; the steak was pretty good. Steven is considered a godfather of Taiwan's e-commerce, so over the meal we chatted about the layouts of e-commerce players like Shopee, MOMO, and PChome. He also knows figures in Taiwan's crypto circle like Wayne from Xrex and Alex from Maicoin, and recently has been researching how to reach a '2.5' stage between Web 2.0 and 3.0.
