Travel note: This morning, I called Duke, who couldn't make it last night. The world is small—I didn't expect both he and Pat to know Christine from Huasheng Securities. Through Christine next week, he might also meet Cindy in Hong Kong. Duke recently moved to a Swiss private bank managing FOF funds; we agreed to catch up later. At noon, I met with Pat and Eric, the CEO of Shangyan Qunjia Accounting Firm, whom I hadn't seen in a while, for a highly cost-effective seafood donburi near Yongchun Station. We chatted about healthcare resources, tax savings, and family legacy—thanks to Eric for hosting. After eating, I visited Pat's UBS office in Taipei's Xinyi District, which focuses on wealth management and investment banking. After leaving, I returned home to work on some things.
