Travel note: At PapiPapi Spanish Restaurant in a lane off Linsen North Road in Taipei, Zhewei, whom I haven't seen in years, invited me and Tony for dinner. He recently had an idea for a project using blockchain smart contracts and wanted to consult me. Zhewei now works at a data provider similar to a newswire or CMoney, offering stock price and financial data for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. I hadn't seen Tony in several months either; he's still listed as the Responsible Officer at Sinopac Hong Kong but spends most of his time in Taiwan. We talked all night—from the online brokerage Hao Hao Securities, which recently exited the financial sandbox, to Tony saying his kid keeps playing games, and me suggesting they try Play-to-Earn games like Axie Infinity. From Zhewei mining PI coins on his phone for a year, to the Star Atlas coin that recently IEO'd on FTX and surged nearly a hundredfold. I also explained AMM (Automated Market Maker) in the DeFi world to Tony.
