Location: Taipei, Yokohama Omurice
Travel note: After work today, I went to the Kinmen Specialty Center on Roosevelt Road to buy some 'Yitiao Gen' (a topical analgesic). Someone asked yesterday why the packaging says 'Made in Taiwan Island,' so I asked the shop owner about it. She said it's because there's no factory in Kinmen, so the ingredients are shipped to Taiwan for production. After buying it, I wandered around nearby for food. Walking down an alley, I saw a shop sign and went in on a whim. Surprisingly, the place was packed. Even though I had a filling lunch of goose meat and danzai noodles from a colleague's treat, by 7 PM I was a bit hungry. I quickly ordered an omurice to try. The rice part was just okay, but the egg skin was really good—smooth and just right. Topped with mushroom sauce, I finished the whole plate in a few minutes, even though I usually eat slowly. Just for the egg skin, it's a place I'd want to visit again.
