Travel note snippet: Taipei Farfalle Creative Kitchen (Farfalle) The last weekend before the New Year was still spent running around everywhere. On Sunday evening, after leaving a certain house near Jinzhou Street where my boss was, carrying my laptop, I immediately rushed to Farfalle Creative Kitchen on Fuxing South Road. Tonight, I had a dinner gathering here with six people: my university classmates Yuanhong & his wife, Hansheng, Afu, Xingjian, and Morgan. While dining, of course, we took the opportunity to catch up on everyone's recent situations. Yuanhong, who works as CFO at Taiwan Knowledge Bank, might be considered the least affected industry—cram schools really aren't much impacted by the economic climate. Next should be Afu at Chunghwa Telecom. Other classmates at Asus, Texas Instruments, or Ayong's wife at Merrill Lynch (now merged with Bank of America)—whether in tech or finance—all can clearly feel the severe winter of the economy (starting this year, my company also announced a 5% salary cut for all employees = =a).
