Location: Taipei, Ruth's Chris Steak House Dazhi Flagship Store
Travel note summary: Originally wanted to book at André Chiang's Raw, but it's only open tomorrow night. Called Bencotto at Mandarin Oriental, but it was fully booked. After some thought, I didn't even bother checking Xiang Yun Long Yin. Just went ahead and booked Ruth's Chris in the same Hesmeng Building as Raw—chances of getting a table are definitely highest here. Compared to the Minsheng East Road branch, the Dazhi flagship feels much quieter, but they've put more effort into the decor, with a darker, more沉稳 color scheme. There's even a small bar near the entrance for drinks and chatting. The three of us ordered a few bone-in Prime rib eyes and T-bones, some sides, and lobster soup, plus a bottle of California Beringer red wine. Per person cost was around NT$4,600. Maybe because the portions were too big, leading to some diminishing marginal returns—though the steak was decent, I still feel the Minsheng branch left a stronger impression.
