Location: Taipei, Wanli, Yannick Cake Travel note: Today, I went to the famous Yannick in Wanli. Since the shop was too crowded, we just took out cakes and drinks and ate outside. At that moment, an unassuming-looking uncle in shorts, wearing a Yannick work badge, stood next to me. With nothing else to do, I chatted with him outside the shop. He explained Yannick's history in detail—how it grew from a small cake factory in 2000 to a famous shop with monthly revenue over NT$30 million. He said after the owner finished military service, he first apprenticed in Taiwan for several years, then went to Japan to learn packaging, then to France to learn about ingredients, and finally returned to Taiwan. Originally just a cake industry lecturer, he later started his own business, promoting his cakes from one or two cafes, eventually supplying dozens of cafes, before establishing the Wanli flagship store and later the Neihu branch... The process was tough. In the early days, due to lack of staff, his girlfriend quit her job at a big company to help him. She told her dad she was betting on this man, and the young guy didn't disappoint his girlfriend (now the chairwoman), making Yannick famous…
