Travel note: Today, I went to the famous Yannick in Wanli. Since the shop was too crowded, we just took out cakes and drinks and ate outside. At that moment, an unassuming-looking uncle in shorts, wearing a Yannick work badge, stood next to me. With nothing else to do, I chatted with him outside the shop. He explained Yannick's history in detail—how it grew from a small cake factory in 2000 to a famous shop with monthly revenue over NT$30 million. He said after the owner finished military service, he first apprenticed in Taiwan for several years, then went to Japan to learn packaging, then to France to learn about ingredients, and finally returned to Taiwan.
