Travel note summary: Today I met up with classmates from the NCKU Institute of Information Management at Le Blé d'Or. Some have changed jobs, but most are still in similar roles—TSMC, Winbond, Chunghwa Telecom, foreign packaging and testing firms, foreign e-commerce companies, Franders, those who started their own software firms plus real estate, National Applied Research Laboratories, teaching at Taipei College of Business, or being a homemaker... Taiwan really is small. Yihua’s husband now works at Intel, but he mentioned that when he was at Realtek, he ran into my former colleague Shizhuan, and they were quite close. I took the chance to ask about Shizhuan’s recent situation—it’s been so long since I last saw him. We all graduated in 2004, and this year marks exactly ten years. Seeing a few old classmates I haven’t met in ages was truly heartwarming, but time really flies—ten years feels like just a day. @@
