One Sunday evening, because my older sister happened to come to Taipei from Hsinchu for a class, she invited Morgan and my younger brother for dinner. She chose this restaurant, Yunnan Small Town, located in Gongguan. My younger brother had been eagerly waiting and finally got another chance to eat for free, so of course he didn't hold back—checking off dishes on the menu: papaya salad, shrimp cake, spicy chicken, coconut beef, Thai-style fried shrimp, Thai seafood soup, plus a pot of white rice. Still not satisfied, after shooting an innocent, pitiful look at my sister and seeing her slight nod, he quickly reached out and added another plate of stir-fried空心菜 with shrimp paste.
