Taipei Ruxi Hotel, 15F OOPS Creative Playground — Yesterday I went into an alley off Ren'ai Road to buy cigars for a friend, and when I came out I ran into Fred at the pet shop next door. He's recently been an adjunct professor at the University of Hong Kong and also chairman of a US-listed company, so we made plans to eat together. This afternoon Cory and I came here to see Brother Andy; Andy brought out Cuban cigars and a French champagne he invested in—with a 170-year history—for everyone to taste. Cory also brought a white wine from a Spanish-Japanese collaboration, and I learned that Yoichi, one of the famous Japanese whisky brands, actually makes wine too. Thanks for hosting, Brother Andy!
