Travel Notes: Last night, Mr. Liang just returned from his trip to the US. Today, he invited Morgan for a meal, so we came to this French restaurant where we couldn't get a reservation last time. During his US trip, Mr. Liang met a former Iranian finance minister, a self-made billionaire who now has over sixty investment companies. They hit it off immediately and even planned to visit Mr. Liang's company in China next quarter to explore collaboration opportunities. Façön is one of Taipei's well-known French restaurants. Although it hasn't been open for long, the food is quite good. Tonight's set menu included Mediterranean-style green asparagus and fennel salmon, crispy parsley frog legs with pumpkin puree, French mushroom cream soup, and roasted puff pastry with partridge and poached egg in port wine sauce. We had lychee sorbet as a palate cleanser, followed by the main course: French Rossini-style pan-seared duck liver and filet mignon (NT$2,880+10%, about 750 RMB).
