Location: Taipei SaSa Sushi (High-end sushi)
Travel note summary: SaSa Sushi in Taipei is one of the 101 restaurants worldwide worth eating at, as selected by Newsweek in 2012, and the only one in Taiwan to make the list. Tonight, Mr. Liang, just back from mainland China, invited Morgan for dinner, so we came to this restaurant in a lane off Zhongshan North Road. Dinner here only offers two price points: 2,500 and 3,000 TWD, with omakase starting at 4,000 TWD. We ordered two bottles of sake, bringing the total to over 9,700 TWD (about 2,300 RMB). The ingredients are mostly imported from Japan, and as the name suggests, the focus is on raw dishes, similar to places like MASA Sushi, but slightly pricier. Chatting with the chef at the counter, I learned the restaurant has been open for over four years, with customers mainly from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan. Tonight was no exception—I heard English and Cantonese throughout. Overall, it was quite satisfying, and Mr. Liang preferred it over Gao Yu. The atmosphere and food make it a place worth revisiting. Though I drank a bit too much and got hot, so I’m just jotting this down casually. As always, for reference only~ :P By Mo…
