Location: Tainan Nian Ji Beef Noodles
Travel notes: In my humble work 'Tainan Snacks Collection (Morgan Edition)', I wrote this line describing some beef noodle shops in Tainan: 'A friend's family runs Nian Ji, I recommend it without bias, visited this shop sixty times, pondered a moment and walked through again.' Among Tainan's beef noodle shops, Nian Ji is fairly well-known. This time, Morgan had a chance to return to Tainan, and coincidentally my friend Xiao Yu was at home, so I went to visit her. It's always nice to see an old friend :) Since I used to eat here often, I've tried almost everything on the menu—dumplings, soup dumplings, pork noodles, braised dishes, black tea, etc. But tonight, time was limited as I had to catch the high-speed rail back to Hsinchu, so I couldn't eat too much. I just ordered a small bowl of beef noodles (NT$90) to reminisce. If I had to describe Nian Ji in one phrase, it'd be 'genuine ingredients.'
