Travel Notes: New Central Cross-Island Highway, Shueili, Tatajia, Alishan, Chiayi Night Market. Last week went to Sun Moon Lake. This week, with Xiaoping and Taiwan Tourist Shuttle friends, we traveled from Shueili via the New Central Cross-Island Highway, passing Tatajia to Alishan. Almost 15 years since first coming to Shueili with Industrial Management friends and Hailan junior. Yesterday noon, ate at that same Xie's meatball shop (soup still same price, meatballs up 10 NT :p). Then entered the New Central Cross-Island Highway, passed Couple Trees and Tatajia, arriving at Alishan—haven't been back since watching sunrise with 14 friends like Lman, Tony, Afu, Wenzheng, Kangge... and welcoming 2008 New Year. Yesterday, in 10°C low temps, rode the small train, saw sacred tree groves, watched sea of clouds at sunset, marveling again at Alishan's intoxicating scenery.
