Travel note: Thanks to my friend Sam and Chairman David from Chong Wei Construction for inviting me to lunch at this French restaurant they invested in, in Yilan. The head chef here used to be the sous chef at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Taïrroir. Today's gathering included David, Brother Bao Ming, Brother Andy, Hao Yang, Ivan, Brother Xiao Qiang, Brother Cory, Arthur, Sam, Taylor, and me—11 people in total. Taiwan is such a small place—turns out Brother Bao Ming is the owner of that standalone private club on Tayou Road I used to visit often a while back. We hadn't met before, but fate brought us together here today. Everyone at the table was an entrepreneur from various industries—cosmetic medicine, real estate, design, electrochromic glass, long-term care, electrical engineering... and Brother Andy, whom I met last time at the piano bar on the 15th floor of the Sunrise Hotel. Chatting further, I also found out that Brother Cory is Sam's primary and middle school senior, 12 years his senior. It was a very enjoyable meal, and everyone had a great time chatting.
