Location: Writing code for someone from Georgia
Travel notes summary: Writing code for someone from Georgia. Recently, someone from Georgia (the country in Southwest Asia, formerly part of the Soviet Union) contacted me. He wanted me to write a trading program for him. Maybe because we didn't know each other, his initial tone was somewhat half-threatening, saying he used to work at Thinkorswim (a U.S. brokerage) and could code himself, blah blah... Basically, he meant if I couldn't write the program, don't bother fooling him. I guess I can't stand being provoked—seeing that tone, I insisted and told him, 'Let's talk after I finish writing it for you.' So, I spent a few nights and weekends coding, not only completing what he wanted but also adding some elements, giving him more than he originally asked for. Last night, I got his email. He left a comment: 'I am very, very satisfied! You're communicative, responsible and skillful.' and thanked me. Although I sacrificed some rest time, borders don't matter. Maybe I just wanted to hear that final 'Thank you.' :) By Morgan, Feb 6, 2015.
