Location: Guangdong Province, Taishan, Xiachuan Island. Travel note: From Kaiping Bus Station, I took a bus heading south. After 50 minutes, I arrived in Taishan, then continued south by bus for another 70 minutes to reach Shanzui Port. After queuing for 20 minutes to buy a ferry ticket, a 30-minute boat ride brought me to Duhwan Port on Xiachuan Island. From there, I transferred to a shuttle bus and arrived at Wangfuzhou Scenic Area 18 minutes later. Getting to Xiachuan Island was no easy task—I woke up around 7 a.m. and didn't arrive until past noon. Known as China's Phuket, the island attracts many tourists during peak season. The weather was brilliantly sunny. After checking into the hotel, I quickly changed into short sleeves to beat the heat. After having a hand-pulled pancake and some blood coral grass jelly, I wandered along the coastline, sat in a secluded spot watching the tides ebb and flow, and gazed at the sparkling waves. I then climbed up Denggao Stone step by step, admiring the blue sky and sea while feeling the gentle spring breeze. Here, I let my heart rest for a moment before rising and continuing onward.
