Travel note summary: Shantou City, Guangdong. Took advantage of the weekend—just over two hours by high-speed rail to get here. Staying tonight near the small park where Shantou first opened as a port. Like in Quanzhou, this area has many of those old-style arcade buildings. Unfortunately, alone, I couldn't order the most authentic Chaoshan beef hotpot, so I switched to the also famous braised goose—so full! @@ By Morgan @2019.7.5
