Location: Hsinchu - A Week's Dinner Diary Travel Notes Summary: Hsinchu - A Week's Dinner Diary. Writing casually, don't mind the mess. A week's dinner diary, wandering from south to north. Eating through Hsinchu is still far off. Monday went to Shandong Restaurant, dumplings cost 4 NTD each. Plumpness is passable, but the flavor lacks sweetness. Tuesday had a simple meal at Water Pen Restaurant, hidden in an alley requiring a turn. Mid-range prices, decent food—creamy bacon penne pasta. Wednesday ate at Hong Yuan for grilled meat, average quality but unlimited quantity. Japanese yakiniku and hotpot, just filling the belly. Thursday visited Yue Lai Small Restaurant, a little shop in Longshan Community. Food was okay, nothing special; probably won't go back. Friday went to Shi Yi Street Noodle House in Zhubei, more like a hotel than a noodle shop. Visited twice, left a deep impression—tried noodles, rice, and dumplings. Saturday at Shin Chiao Yakiniku House, high-end ingredients cost quite a bit. Highly recommend the marbled beef, memorable and lingering. Sunday cooked at home, too cold to go out.
